From the Heart
Welcome to this special place.
Here you will find some thoughts and inspirations that help me through tough times. I hope that you can find something here that inspires or helps you, too.
Philosophy
In almost every picture of me I am wearing my heart necklace which has become an iconic symbol for things that I feel passionate about. I have worn my heart necklace for over thirty years and it’s now very much part of me and my philosophy…
“Give from the heart with total commitment to what you believe in.”
These are some quotes from inspirational philosophers that I try to live by:
“It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.”
“Education is the best provision for old age.”
Aristotle
“Observe carefully what guides the actions of the wise, and what they shun or seek.”
“The laws of collective expediency required this to happen.”
“Test for yourself your capacity for the good man’s life, the life of one content with his allotted part in the universe, who seeks only to be just in his doings and charitable in his ways.”
“Accustom yourself to to pay careful attention to what others are saying and place yourself in the mind in that of the speaker.”
Marcus Aurelius
Inspirations
Winners smile. People always ask me why I’m always smiling and I say to them, I always smile because winners always smile. No matter what adversity you may face if you keep smiling people will never know that you are hurting inside.
Childhood lasts a lifetime. People say children are resilient but they are not as strong as we think. Whatever happens to us in childhood, good or bad, will stay with us for the rest of our life and stay in our heart and soul. Childhood experiences often return to us in our 40s and 50s.
History tells us a lot about our future. Politicians and world leaders should be aware of history so they don’t repeat the mistakes of the past. Leaving behind a wounded world for our children to inherit.
Don’t expect everyone to like you because you can’t win them all. You can spend a lot of time trying to make people like you, but sometimes you meet someone who you just can’t win over. These people misunderstand you and are judging you by their own poor standards. Don’t waste your time.
Thoughts
If you have everything, you have nothing.
– If you give a child too many material things it soon becomes bored and disillusioned, taking life and things for granted. It is better to have just one thing which can be treasured and valued than a hundred things which mean nothing.
